I base my resort reviews on a star rating system of 1-6. Below are descriptions of the star rating system. Please note, the star system has little to do with price, since price fluctuates on a daily basis. Rather, the resorts are based factors, such as, cleanliness, amenities, and service.
Star: No more than a run-down hotel, where the biggest highlight is that it offers a bed. This may be a run down hotel in the slums of Bangalore, or a youth hostel in Paris. I rarely will cover places like these.
Stars: These are the “shady” hotels in the world; the not so cleanly hotels, where one can find mildew all over the bathrooms, or a place that screams crappy.
Stars: Refers to your standard hotels, that are clean, to the point, but do not offer much in the way of amenities and service. Say, your Marriott Courtyard, or Holiday Inn.
Stars: This category and up, will be my main focus. These are the resorts that claim to have it all, but they kind of fall short of ultimate luxury. Not to say that this is a bad hotel, but it is your hotel/resort that does a good job and is worth a visit.
Stars: Five star resorts are the ones that stand out and do it well. If you see a five star, it is worth your money and time to visit; a must go!
Stars: Basically, these are five star resorts, but they have that added something special and have my official ultimate luxury seal of approval. You will not see many of these.
